Pittman Brothers was established in 1972 by
two brothers, Scott and Wayne Pittman. Both brothers
were excellent woodworkers -- true craftsmen and artists.
They developed a well-respected reputation for handcrafted
furniture, cabinets, doors and windows. After Pittman
Brothers became a Santa Fe fixture, Scott and Wayne
went on to expand their talents into the field of home
construction.
Gary Polkowitz, the current owner of Pittman
Brothers, learned his craft from the brothers over 28
years ago, and stayed on as owner and manager after
their departure. He continues to be very "hands-on"
in developing and honing the business, constantly identifying
the "best of the best" in new materials, fixtures
and trends. While he is passionate about quality design
and thoroughly enjoys the quality relationships he develops
with his clients, he derives the greatest satisfaction
in his clients' delight upon receiving a finished product
that exceeds their expectations.
Larry Huff, Senior Designer, started in the
cabinetry business at age 13 in his father's and uncle's
cabinet shop. It was a family tradition; in addition
to his father and three uncles, he has four cousins
in the business as well. Larry has been part of the
Pittman Brothers team since 1992. Five of his kitchen
designs have been awarded the "Best Kitchen"
award in recent highly competitive "Parade of Homes"
contests. Larry's artistic scope also encompasses commercial
photography and stained glass. "I will use you
again in the near future.... Larry was a great help."
(J. Smith )
Stan Black, kitchen designer, has a love of
woodworking and cabinetry dating back beyond two decades.
His degree in fine arts gives him an edge over the competition
in designing comfortable, practical and efficient spaces
for his clients. Woodworking is his hobby as well as
his profession, so being "hands-on" comes
naturally to him. His clients also love his attention
to detail and his ability to jump into the scene and
supervise on-site crews. "I would, and do, recommend
Pittman Bros. and Stan Black to everyone who is in the
market for cabinets. I cannot say enough good things
about it." (H. Golden)
